Tim Maziarz, Chief Financial Officer, joined Jennmar in August of 2004. Before joining Jennmar, he worked for Ernst & Young LLP in Pittsburgh from 1995 to 2004 and served as a Senior Manager on various middle market and multinational clients in the manufacturing and construction industries. Tim graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Accounting, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
James Pfeifer is the General Counsel of Jennmar Holdings LLC and Subsidiaries. James joined Jennmar in 2014. He is responsible for the companies’ day-to-day legal matters, manages the companies’ intellectual property portfolio, and oversees all M&A activity. He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a JD from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law. Before joining Jennmar, he worked as a litigation associate at McGuireWoods, LLP and Pepper Hamilton, LLP.
Michael Portwood serves as President, Global Soft Rock for Jennmar, where he leads the company's global soft rock mining operations and supports strategic growth initiatives across key markets. He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning the automotive, mining, civil infrastructure, and manufacturing industries.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Sue Bennett College and an Executive MBA from Xavier University. He is also a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker.
His career began at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, where he developed a passion for operational excellence and manufacturing performance. During his time in the automotive industry, he held positions including Tool and Die Maker, Engineering Manager, Business Development Leader, and Plant Manager, building a strong foundation in manufacturing, process improvement, and leadership.
As an entrepreneur, Michael founded and operated several successful businesses. These included a tool and die company serving the automotive industry through the design and manufacture of dies, gauges, and fixtures, as well as a manufacturing and distribution company supplying products and services to the mining sector.
Prior to joining Jennmar, Michael served as Vice President of Operations for Minova and later as General Manager of Global Projects for Orica, where he led initiatives to optimize and consolidate the company's global explosives supply chain. He returned to Minova as President, serving in that role for 12 years and helping drive growth and operational excellence across the organization.
Today, Michael leverages his extensive operational, manufacturing, and mining experience to support Jennmar's global soft rock business and its continued commitment to delivering innovative ground control and infrastructure solutions worldwide.
Trent Roberts serves as President, International Hard Rock for Jennmar, where he leads the company's hard rock mining operations and strategic growth initiatives across international markets. He works closely with customers, distribution partners, and operational teams to deliver innovative ground support solutions while advancing Jennmar's global presence in the hard rock mining sector.
A qualified Geotechnical Engineer, Trent brings extensive experience in mining operations, project management, and business leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked with both large and small mining companies, holding a variety of technical, operational, and management roles that have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities.
Since joining Jennmar in 2009, Trent has played a key role in supporting the company's international growth and strengthening relationships with customers around the world. His expertise includes identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing systems and processes, and driving operational efficiencies that enhance productivity, safety, and long-term performance.
Trent is particularly passionate about developing practical solutions that improve mine safety and operational effectiveness. His collaborative leadership style, technical knowledge, and commitment to customer success continue to support Jennmar's growth and reputation throughout the global hard rock mining industry.
Robert Wise is the Chief Operating Officer, Hard Rock Mining Americas for Jennmar, where he oversees operations and strategic initiatives supporting the company's hard rock mining business throughout the Americas. Since joining Jennmar in 2012, he has helped strengthen operational performance and manufacturing capabilities while fostering a culture centered on safety, quality, and customer service. Robert brings more than 37 years of experience in the mining, civil construction, and manufacturing sectors and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
Bruce Johnson is the Senior Vice President of Operations. Bruce joined Jennmar in March of 2015. He has 25 years’ experience in the coal industry starting with Massey energy for 17 years. At Massey, he held the position of Divisional Controller, Management Trainee Underground, Divisional President, and Vice President of Purchasing. Bruce also spent five years at United Coal where he was Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Materials Management. Bruce was also Vice President of Purchasing at Foresight Energy before joining Jennmar. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Accounting and earned his MBA at Morehead State University. Bruce earned his CPA license in 1996.
Alex Butt is an accomplished operations executive with more than 15 years of experience leading enterprise-wide, operational excellence initiatives across manufacturing and consulting environments. He has a strong track record of driving lean transformation, scalable growth, and measurable financial performance improvements, partnering closely with private equity firms, boards, and executive leadership teams.
Alex currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Lean Operations at Jennmar. He is tasked with being the architect of the company’s global lean initiative. Serving over 80 facilities worldwide, Alex will educate, empower, and develop operations teams to drive down costs, increase efficiency, and strengthen the workforce’s ability to execute operational improvements.
Before re-entering his new corporate role, Alex served as the Managing Director of Operations at Banner Management Consulting. He led two divisions, oversees business development strategy, and directs large-scale operational improvement initiatives. Throughout his tenure, he has delivered more than $5 million in EBITDA gains for clients, led multiple operational “Boot Camps” generating significant cost savings, and developed Lean Hoshin strategies to support successful ownership transitions for newly acquired companies.
Prior to consulting, Alex held progressive leadership roles at Schneider Electric, including Fabrication Manager, Warehouse/MPH Manager, Lean Manufacturing Engineer, and Quality Engineer. In these roles, he led cross-functional teams of up to 45 employees, reduced inventory by $300,000, improved shipping accuracy by 10%, and drove major quality improvements, including reducing paint defects from 33% to under 1%.
He began his career with the Institute for Lean Systems, where he executed labor and inventory reduction projects, designed daily management systems, and trained teams from frontline associates to executive leadership.
Alex holds a B.S. in Engineering Arts from Georgetown College and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He is known for his data-driven decision-making, strong cross-functional leadership, and ability to translate lean principles into sustained financial and operational results.
Drew Morgan is the Chief Operating Officer for Jennchem. Drew graduated Cum Laude from West Virginia University in December 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Mining Engineering. Drew worked for 8 years at Consol Energy as an intern and Supervisor in the Pennsylvania operations. In 2015, Drew joined Jennchem as a Technical Service Engineer and was promoted to the Northeast Regional Manager in October of 2016. He was promoted to COO in January 2020.
