Our Capabilities

ENGINEERING & GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES

JENNMAR Engineering offers engineering services such as structural analysis, numerical modeling, 3-D modeling,
and many more. JENNMAR Engineering continually conducts research and development of many new products and improvements. Our mission is to create the highest quality products and services that make the impossible, possible.
With one key factor at the forefront: safety.

  • Underground Support Assessment
  • Video Borescope Inspection
  • Underground/On-Site Testing
  • Underground/On-Site Training
Successful and consistently reliable primary and secondary support is paramount in ensuring mine safety and efficient operation. At JENNMAR Engineering, we understand the adaption of roof conditions, bolt and resin types, and installation equipment. Our expertise at designing primary and supplemental support, associated with video scoping and finite element analysis as well as underground examination, allows our customers to be the most successful and competitive mining companies in their respective industries.
JENNMAR Engineering engineers communicate with mine management to identify design requirements and use the requirements as a basis to customize and develop an optimal design that meets the field engineering needs. Information and geotechnical data typically include the purpose of the steel set (slope opening, entry rehabilitation, roof fall rehabilitation, highwall support, etc.), size of the opening, and scope of the area to be supported.

The patented Roof Instability Rating (RIR) system was developed by JENNMAR Engineering in 2000 to predict and identify potential weak areas of roof stability across mine sections or mine property. RIR is an effective rating method that integrates several factors pertaining to entry stability with different weighting factors, geological data, and roof failure history. RIR has been successfully applied to mining operations and can also be used to optimize bolting parameters based on RIR results.

  • Compliance Assistance
  • On-Site Testing
  • Roof Control/Ground Control Plans
  • Product Specifications and Applications
A stable pillar with proper size can ensure the serviceability of underground entries. JENNMAR Engineering expertise at ground control goes beyond providing customers with effective primary and secondary support solutions. Our finite element stress analysis combined with our underground examination and profound knowledge of ground control enables us to provide our customers with optimum pillar design for any mining conditions and different pillar functions. Our pillar designs provide improved, safer, and more cost-effective roof support.
  • In-Situ Stress Analysis
  • Rock Mass Response

JENNMAR Engineering has the expertise in optimizing longwall set-up and recovery entry designs based on mine-specific geological and mining conditions, mining practices, ground movement, and support characteristics of JENNMAR and JENNCHEM roof support products. Many set-ups and recovery entries have been successfully designed and applied at the request of our customers while meeting MSHA’s Technical Support requirements in avoiding roof and weighting type failures and protecting the safety of miners.

  • Complete Design Capabilities
  • Drafting and Detailing
  • AISC Design Methodology
    • LRFD Design
    • ASD Design
  • Numerical Simulation
JENNMAR Engineering has developed a practical ground support design methodology called the Stress, Geologic, and Support® Design System (SGS®). The SGS method takes into account the actual geotechnical conditions, identifies strong, fair, and weak sections along the slope, recommends primary and supplemental roof bolting plans, designs optimal steel sets for actual field conditions and engineering needs, and verifies the adequacy of the developed steel sets. The SGS method has received profoundly positive comments from the mining industry and governmental agencies.
  • Primary and Supplemental Rock Bolts
  • Spiling and Forepoling
  • Chemical Consolidation and Grouting
  • Assessment and Rehabilitation of Rock Falls
  • Laboratory Testing of Steel Components
